Richardson is third BCHLer to commit to Boston College this season

Press Release

Victoria Grizzlies forward Evan Richardson has accepted a scholarship to attend Boston College in 2013 where he'll play alongside Destry Straight and Mark Begert of the Coquitlam Express who committed to the program earlier.

Richardson, who turns 17 at the end of May, played 55 games for the Grizzlies this past season. As one of the youngest players in the league, he put up 12 goals and 30 assists along with 21 penalty minutes.

He scored two goals in two games playing as a 15-year-old with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the 2009-10 season.

In April, Richardson skated for a select team of BCHL players that went to Russia for an invitation and came away with a silver medal.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Nanaimo native was a first-round pick by the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League in the 2009 Bantam draft.
