Sting Hire Jacques Beaulieu

Sarnia, ON – Sarnia Sting President Larry Ciccarelli announced this afternoon the Hockey Club has hired Jacques Beaulieu as the new Head Coach and General Manager.

Beaulieu has previous experience as both a Head Coach and General Manager with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Beaulieu held both jobs with the Sea Dogs from 2006 – 2009 and was responsible for drafting or trading for 12 players on the current Sea Dogs roster which was the number one ranked team in the CHL for most of this past season finishing the regular season with a record of 58-7-1-2.

In 2007-2008 Beaulieu was named the General Manager of the Year in the QMJHL leading the Sea Dogs to a record of 41-22-0-7.

Beaulieu most recently was employed by the London Knights serving two different stints behind the Knights bench as their Associate Coach. He was with the Knights from 2002 – 2006 and then again from 2009 – 2011.

With the Knights Beaulieu would be instrumental in helping guide the team to a Memorial Cup Championship in 2005, an OHL Championship in 2005, Western Conference Championships in 2005 and 2006 and MidWest Division Championships in 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2009-10.

Prior to joining the Knights Coaching Staff Beaulieu was the Head Coach of the Petrolia Jets and London Nationals.

Jacques and his wife Carmen reside in Strathroy, Ontario with their 3 children. His son Nathan is rated highly for the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft and is currently a member of the Saint John Sea Dogs.
