Press Release
For the first time, the USHL will make its way to the eastern part of the United States to conduct an event when it hosts the USHL "Young Guns" Invitational Tournament, May 6-8 in Voorhees and Pennsauken, New Jersey.
The tournament provides an opportunity for players in the Midget Minor and Bantam Major age groups to be showcased in front of USHL teams and scouts. It will also assist USHL Player Development in further identifying future prospects and help in the selection process for players that will be invited to the USHL Prospect Combine in August for 1996 and 1997 birth year players.
USHL Player Development is currently in the second year of hosting USHL Prospect Combines, the first of its kind events to evaluate and educate potential future USHL players. The "Young Guns" Tournament is a new initiative, and like the combines, is an outreach for the USHL to be in front of the best and brightest young hockey talent in the nation.
Each team at the event will play four games over two days on Friday, May 6th and Saturday, May 7th. The top four teams from each division will then move on to the championship rounds on Sunday. While taking place in the eastern part of the United States, teams are coming from throughout the country to participate in the tournament.
