Clippers forward Stanimir accepts deal to Sacred Heart

Nanaimo Clippers forward Ryan Stanimir has secured a scholarship to play for the Sacred Heart Pioneers in the coming season.

The 6-foot, 185-pound native of West Vancouver split the most recent campaign between the Victoria Grizzlies, where he played the first eight games of the season, and Nanaimo. He wound up with 20 goals and 35 assists in 56 games played.

A veteran of 168 career BCHL games, Stanimir suited up for seven different clubs in his tenure in the league. He finished his Junior A career with 51 goals and 69 assists in 168 games.

At Sacred Heart, Stanimir will join forces with Trail Smoke Eaters grad Cullen Bradshaw who signed with the Fairfield, Conn. school early in February.
