Farley Commits to University of Minnesota-Duluth

The Fargo Force announced that forward Austin Farley has committed to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth following his USHL career.

Farley played 33 games for the Force during his rookie USHL season and collected 11 points (7g, 4a). He scored a goal in his USHL debut on November 27th vs. Green Bay. The 17-year-old led the Force with a .219 shooting percentage, scoring his seven goals on just 32 shots. Farley is a native of Park Ridge, Illinois and was selected by the Fargo Force in the third round (34th overall) of the 2010 USHL Entry Draft.

Farley's commitment comes the same week that Force Head Coach Jason Herter accepted an assistant coach position at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Another Force player, Willie Corrin, is also committed to the school. Another 10 players who spent the 2010-11 season in the USHL are committed to play college hockey for the Bulldogs; Cal Decowski (Des Moines Buccaneers), Andy Welinski (Green Bay Gamblers), Tim Smith (Indiana Ice), Chris Casto (Lincoln Stars), Justin Crandall (Omaha Lancers), Caleb Herbert (Sioux City Musketeers), Adam Krause (Sioux City Musketeers), Austyn Young (Sioux Falls Stampede), Matt McNeely (Team USA), and Kyle Osterberg (Team USA).

The University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs are a member of the WCHA and had 14 USHL alumni on the roster this past season when they captured the school's first-ever NCAA Championship - J.T. Brown (Waterloo Black Hawks), Jack Connolly (Sioux Falls Stampede), Aaron Crandall (Des Moines Buccaneers/Green Bay Gamblers), Justin Faulk (Team USA), Keegan Flaherty (Fargo Force/Green Bay Gamblers), David Grun (Sioux Falls Stampede/Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Jake Hendrickson (Sioux City Musketeers), Scott Kishel (Sioux Falls Stampede), Luke McManus (Tri-City Storm/Indiana Ice/Omaha Lancers), Travis Oleksuk (Sioux City Musketeers), Drew Olson (Omaha Lancers), Ken Reiter (Danville Wings), Mike Seidel (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), and Maxwell Tardy (Tri-City Storm).
