Jonathan Milley commits to Penn State University

Press Release

Pembroke Lumber Kings General Manager Sheldon Keefe announced today that Fred Page Cup MVP and RBC Cup All Star Forward Jonathan Milley has committed to Penn State University for the 2012-2013 season.

Along with this announcement, Keefe also acknowledged that Milley will return to Pembroke for one more season to help defend the Kings national title and five consecutive league championships.

Last season Milley scored 29 goals and 29 assists for 58 points in only 42 games in the regular season before making his mark throughout the Kings Championship run in the playoffs where he led the offensive attack with 24 points in 14 games. He was named MVP of the Fred Page Cup Eastern Canadian Championships along with being placed on the RBC Cup National Championship All Star Team after leading the tournament in goals and points. His place in Lumber Kings history was secured by scoring both goals in the Kings 2-0 win over the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers in the final game bringing home a national championship to Pembroke for the first time ever.

Earlier this year, Penn State was granted a spot in NCAA Division 1 College Hockey for the 2012-13 season where they will compete within an Independent schedule before the prestigious Big 10 conference featuring college powerhouses Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio State is formed in 2013-2014.
