Oil Barons Hire Associate Coach

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that they have added Bjorn Kinding as an Associate Coach effective immediately. He joins the Oil Barons' staff after being the Headmaster at the prestigious Harrington College in Quebec last year.

Bjorn is originally from Goteborg, Sweden and has extensive experience on the international stage. After graduating from Umea University with a Bachelor's of Arts and Science, Bjorn quickly established himself as a well respected coach in numerous professional leagues in Europe. His international resume includes being the Head Coach for the Danish National Team, Swiss National Team and Team Japan. One of Bjorn's greatest accomplishments was being the Head Coach for Team Japan at the Nagano Olympics in 1998.

Bjorn has written several coaching manuals for top hockey organizations, including the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, Hockey Canada, USA Hockey and the International Ice Hockey Federation. He is a frequent key note speaker at major international symposiums around the world.

Oil Baron Head Coach and General Manager Gord Thibodeau said, "We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to add such a quality individual and coach such as Bjorn. We feel his knowledge and his expertise with regards to skill development will be a tremendous asset to our players and organization."
