Otters swap draft picks with Spitfires

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League today announced that they have acquired the 37th overall selection in the 2011 CHL Import Draft from the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for Windsor’s fifth round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and Erie’s seventh round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.

The Otters now hold three picks (37th, 67th, 94th) in the 2011 CHL Import Draft. Each team in the CHL is permitted to carry two European Import players each season. Goaltender Ramis Sadikov was selected in the 2009 CHL Import Draft and is eligible to return to the Otters next season.

The 2011 CHL Import Draft will take place on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. The two-round draft will take place online and can be followed live as picks are made at www.chl.ca.
