Rangers Sign Genovese

Press Release

Kitchener Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott has announced that the team has signed Cory Genovese to an Ontario Hockey League contract.

"Cory is a big, stay at home defenceman that also has an edge in his game," Rangers Head Scout Murray Hiebert said. "He has the ability to clear the zone in front of the net and is a great penalty killer."

Originally selected in the 13th Round of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, Cory spent last season with the Elmira Sugar Kings where he helped capture the Sutherland Cup.

Rangers training camp opens on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
