Training Camp starts August 14

Sydney – The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 15th Training Camp will begin Sunday, August 14 at Centre 200 General Manager Pierre Roux announced on Thursday June 23,2011

To date, 44 players have been invited to training camp which will be held under first year General Manager Roux and first year head coach Ron Choules.

Of the 44 players invited to camp so far, 28 have at least one game experience in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

It should be a very competitive camp, according to Roux, who will continue to look to add more players through the free-agent route, although he doesn’t expect more than 50 players to attend camp.

The team will also play six pre-season games three at home against Halifax, Moncton and PEI and three on the road against Halifax, Moncton and PEI.

The three home games will be spread out across Cape Breton with games scheduled for Centre 200 on Sunday, August 21 against the Halifax Mooseheads at 4:00 p.m., the Northside Civic Centre will play host to the Screaming Eagles and the Moncton Wildcats on Friday, August 26 at 7:00 pm and on Labour Day Monday, September 5 at 4:00 pm the Screaming Eagles and the PEI Rocket will square off at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.

“We are pleased to be able to play some pre-season games away from Centre 200. The new facility on the Northside is a state of the art building and we have been trying for a number of years to schedule a game in Port Hawkesbury and this year it all came together’, Screaming Eagles President Paul MacDonald said.
