Jr. Trappers sign Lipinski Twins

Press Release

The North Bay Jr. Trappers continue to find talent in the province of Alberta as the organization inked 1993 birth year forwards Lyndon Lipinski and Bryce Lipinski at the end of their 3-day camp at Pete Palangio arena.

Despite their small stature, the Grande Prairie, Alberta twins impressed at the Trappers camp on the weekend.

The Trappers had been trying to lure the talented forwards to Trappers camp since early June.

"They are definitely going to add a lot of speed to the team, they both are quick and both have good shots," noted Jr. Trappers Associate GM Randy Blake.

The duo who join Calgary, Alberta product Travis Fernley with the Trappers; played AA midget in Grande Prairie last year.

Bryce, 5'6', 140 lb. forward had 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points in 25 games last season while Lyndon, 5'9, 160 lb. forward had 28 goals and and 27 assists for 55 points in 30 games last year.

"I looked at everything and I did my research and it seems like North Bay is a really good town,” said Lyndon Lipinski.

“I like the look of the team and the vets that were out there, they seem like good guys.”

Bryce Lipinski, the smaller brother, is more the distributor of the puck. Like Lyndon, Bryce doesn't like the twin comparisons to the Sedins but doesn't mind being compared to the Sutter twins Ron and Rich.

"We are nothing like the Sedins, We aren't going to be as soft as they are,” Bryce Lipinski stated bluntly with a grin.

“You are going to find we are going to look for each other on the ice. Sometimes we just know exactly where we are, I guess the Twin tuition thing. We are going to score some goals and turn some heads in North Bay.”

Jr. Trappers president/GM Chris Dawson was intrigued with the duo after seeing the success the Payne brothers had with the Soo Eagles last season.

"We love the speed, skill, and elusiveness that they bring with them,” said Dawson.

“Plus, the skill they showed on a small pad at Pete Palangio was impressive. We can't wait to see them skate in late August at Main Camp on Memorial Gardens ice. They will put on a show."
