KLIPPERS ACQUIRE GOALIE FROM OLDS

Press Release

The Kindersley Klippers have traded forward Justin Gerwing (1992-Saskatoon, SK) to the Olds Grizzlys of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for goaltender Riley Parker (1992-Abbotsford, BC)

Parker knows Saskatchewan well as he was the winning goaltender in the Telus Cup final when the Notre Dame Hounds defeated Mississauga. He bounced around the AJHL last year playing for Olds, Camrose and Okotoks winning 12 games with two of those wins being shutouts.

"Riley is a real solid goaltender that never had a real chance to get his feet under himself last season due to circumstances that were out of his control. We feel that the potential is there for him to have an outstanding season and knowing the quality of the person that he is, we see no reason as to why he won't be able to achieve great success.” said Klippers Coach Rockie Zinger.

Gerwing played in just 30 games for the Klippers last season scoring four goals and adding one assist while collecting 72 penalty minutes.
