Monarchs Come Calling For Ackerman

Press Release

We are happy to share that Charlie Ackerman is going to play his junior hockey with the Eastern Junior Hockey League powerhouse, NH Jr Monarchs. Ackerman will join former Advantage player Cam Brown (Maine) on the team for the 2011-12 season. Former Advantage player Peter Deangelo (UMASS-Amherst) played for the Monarchs in 2009-10.

Ackerman is a hard working honest player with a hard shot that can play in all situations. He wins battles, likes to initiate contact and is tough infront of the net. Charlie has the ability to score big goals as well.

"I am excited to be playing for Coach Trembley's Monarchs team. They have distinguished themselves as a leader in junior hockey with their numerous playoff appearances and championships. They have moved a ton of kids onto terrific DI and DIII hockey programs as well" noted Ackerman.

Ackerman came to the Advantage from Florida to play for the Midget Minor team in 09-10 where he played 50 games and had 22g 29a. He also played in 7 games for the Major team that year and had 1g 1a. In 10-11 for the Major team he had a 27-31-58 line in 62 games.

Head Coach Joe Lovell shared; "We are happy for Charlie. He worked hard for us game in and game out. He contributed offensively with important goals and was defensively responsible. Charlie was a key penalty killer who sacraficed himself to block shots and played a physical presence on the PP. Charlie has strong DI potential. He is a great kid."

Besides Brown (Maine) and Deangelo (UMASS-Amherst), Ackerman joins a special list of former Lovell's Hockey players; Dave German (Yale), Matt Germain (Providence), Pat Bowen (Merrimack), Mike Rosata (Sacred Heart), who played their junior hockey with the Monarchs.
