Alberni Valley hires Hayduk in assistant coaching role

Press Release

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to announce the hiring of Adam Hayduk as assistant coach for the 2011-12 season.

Since 2007, Hayduk has been the executive director of the Vancouver Thunderbirds Minor Hockey Association. Previous to that, Hayduk spent time as assistant coach with the Delta Ice Hawks of the PIJHL and with Simon Fraser University as the head coach.

“We feel very fortunate to have Adam join the Bulldogs coaching staff and management team," said director of hockey operations Rick Schievink.
"With his High Performance experience and knowledge of the Lower Mainland hockey scene, Adam is in a position to contribute to the success of the team in short order. I know Adam is keen to expand his coaching knowledge and excited to become part of our community”

Hayduk was recently named the head coach for the BC U16 Team, for the
WHL Western Branch Challenge that takes place in Moose Jaw, Sask. October 23 to 30, 2011.

"I am very excited about joining the Alberni Valley Bulldogs as an assistant coach," said Hayduk. "I would to thank the ownership group, Rick, Paul (Esdale), and the entire Alberni Valley Bulldogs organization for this opportunity.

"The discussions that I had with Rick and Paul were very positive and comfortable. I have a really good feeling that we can all work towards a common goal of developing our players and building a winning franchise. Everyone that I talked to prior to making my decision spoke very positively about the community and the passion everyone shows for the Bulldogs. I hope to put forth an effort that will match the community's passion for the team," .
