Appio dealt to Owen Sound for draft pick

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that left wing Brett Appio has been traded to the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for a conditional 10th round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. The announcement was made by Otters general manager Sherry Bassin.

Appio has appeared in 169 OHL games, including 80 with the Otters. He collected 15 goals and nine assists in an Otters uniform, while racking up 181 penalty minutes. Appio had career highs of 12 goals and 18 points with the Otters last season, leading the team with 127 penalty minutes.

A native of Bolton, Ontario, Appio was acquired by the Otters with goaltender Adam Courchaine from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for three draft picks on January 10, 2010.
