HITMEN ACQUIRE BRASSART FROM CHIEFS

Press Release

Calgary, AB – Calgary Hitmen General Manager, Executive Vice President and Alternate Governor Kelly Kisio announced today the acquisition of 18-year-old centre Brady Brassart from the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for a fourth round conditional pick in the 2012 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Brassart joins the Hitmen as a former second round pick of Spokane (48th overall) in 2008. The 6’2” 185lbs. centre is entering his third full season in the Western Hockey League after collecting a combined 47 points (17g 30a) during his first two campaigns.

“This trade immediately bolsters our centre position while also improving our 18-year-old depth,” says Kisio. “Brady more than doubled his point total last season so we also expect him to add to our scoring depth.”

Brassart was Spokane’s Rookie of the Year in 2010 and is a two time winner of the Chiefs Scholastic Player of the Year Award in 2010 and 2011. He also played for Team Pacific at the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he recorded three points (1g 2a) in five games.
