IceDogs Acquire Bennett from Colts

Press Release

The Niagara IceDogs have acquired forward Mitch Bennett from the Barrie Colts in exchange for a 9th round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.

Bennett comes to the IceDogs after having spent the first three seasons of his OHL career with Barrie.

The 6'3", 200 lbs. native of Fenelon Falls, ON played in 61 games last season, picking up two goals and seven assists for nine points to go along with 131 penalty minutes. In those 61 games, Bennett also had 18 fights.

"(Bennett) is a great, big, strong kid who can really help us" said Williamson, who coached Bennett in Barrie when he broke into the OHL.

The entire IceDogs organization would like to welcome Mitch to Niagara and we look forward to seeing him on the ice in training camp at the end of the month!
