Majors Sign 2010 Second Round Pick Ryan Duhaime

Mississauga, ON – Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors General Manager and Head Coach James Boyd announced today that the club has signed Ryan Duhaime.

The Majors acquired Duhaime with the team’s second round pick (37th overall) in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, picking him from the Ottawa Valley Titans minor midget team. A defenseman out of Stittsville, ON, he collected 16 points in 26 games during his minor midget season (2009-10) with the Titans.

Last year, Duhaime moved up to play Junior A hockey with the Kanata Stallions of the Central Canadian Hockey League. In 39 games for the Stallions, he chipped in a goal and 10 assists for 11 points while serving 12 penalty minutes.

Duhaime is 17 years old, stands 5’11” and weighs in at 176 pounds.

At the end of August, Duhaime and the rest of the Majors will gather at the Hershey Centre for 2011 Training Camp. Full training camp details will be released at stmichaelsmajors.com shortly.
