Otters acquire goaltender Teichmann from.Belleville

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League announced that they have traded defenseman Brady Austin to the Belleville Bulls in exchange for goaltender Tyson Teichmann.

Born on May 19, 1993 in Belleville, Ont., Teichmann was Belleville’s first round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection. He has appeared in 72 OHL games, posting a 4.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .878.

Teichmann helped Canada win the gold medal at the 2011 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka by shutting out the United States in the championship games with 22 saves. He also earned a silver medal with Team Ontario at the 2010 World Under-17 Ice Hockey Challenge, as he was 4-1 with a 1.59 goals-against-average and a save percentage of .927.

Austin departs from the Otters after playing in 123 regular season games and collecting six goals and 22 assists to go with a +15 rating. He was originally selected in the second round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection by the Otters.
