Petes acquire goaltender from Rangers

The Peterborough Petes announced today that General Manager David Reid has completed a trade with the Kitchener Rangers to acquire 19 year old goaltender Michael Morrison in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, 4th round draft pick in 2013 and a conditional 6th round draft pick in 2013 should Morrison play an overage season in the Ontario Hockey League.

Morrison, a native of Hamilton, Ontario has played 3 seasons in the OHL with an accumulative 3.11 GAA and .900 Save %. All three seasons have been as a member of the Kitchener Rangers. Mike played playoff games in 2010 and 2011 for the Rangers earning a 2.00 GAA and .946 Save %.

“The Peterborough Petes are very pleased to add Michael to our team” says Petes General Manager David Reid. “Michael proved last season that he is capable of playing at a high level in our league and had an excellent playoff against the Plymouth Whalers. We are looking forward to seeing Michael in a Petes uniform when training camp opens on August 31st.”
