Rockets Import Arrives for Rookie Camp

The Kelowna Rockets would like to announce the arrival of import draft selection Filip Vasko in Kelowna as the Rockets get set to begin its 2011 training camp.

The Rockets selected Vasko with the 58th overall pick in this summer’s Canadian Hockey League import draft.

A native of Slovakia, Vasko, 17, played last season with the Slovakian Under-20 national team where he tallied 15 goals and 22 assists in 41 games.

160 rookies will skate in the Rockets rookie training camp which begins Thursday and ends Sunday at Prospera Place.

The Rockets main training camp takes place Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 before Kelowna plays its first exhibition game on Sept. 2 against Vancouver at Prospera Place.
