Second round pick Evans signs with Otters

Press Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League are proud to announce that center Jake Evans has signed a contract.

Born February 18, 1995 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Evans was selected in the second round (34th overall) of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection in May.

Last season with the Welland Tigers, Evans scored 27 goals and added 46 assists in 59 games.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this,” Evans said. “I’m really excited for the season and I can’t wait to start developing and succeeding under new expectations.”

Evans joins first round selection Stephen Harper in committing to the Otters for the 2011-12 OHL season. Their next order of business will be training camp, which begins Monday, August 29 in Erie.
