SPITS LAND PUCKMOVING DMAN BATEMAN FROM ICE DOGS

Press Release As training camp continues at the WFCU Centre, the Spitfires have called a news conference for 3PM to announce the acquisition of defenceman Adam Bateman. In exchange, GM Warren Rychel has sent a collection of draft picks to the Niagara Ice Dogs: Peterborough's 2nd in 2014, Sarnia's 2nd in 2015, Guelph's 6th in 2012, and Windsor's 3rd round picks in 2015 and 2016. Listed at 5'10 and 180 pounds, Bateman was selected in the first round, 19th overall by Niagara in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. Bateman spent the 2010-2011 season with the Don Mills Flyers, putting up three goals and 23 assists for 26 points in 31 games. He also represented Team Ontario at the Canada Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia last year. SCOUTING REPORT Bateman possesses great feet and is a very smooth and efficient skater. He also displays excellent mobility and quickness, which allows him to compensate and recover quickly and efficiently. Bateman also has a very good stick, displaying the ability to carry and move the puck with a high level of poise and composure.
