Stallions Complete Coaching Staff

The Kanata Stallions have completed there coaching staff for the 2011-2012 season. The Stallions have hired former NHL defenseman Corey Foster. In making the announcement Head Coach Randy Pierce said “hiring Corey with his knowledge of the game and how to play defense should help our defenseman out a lot”. Corey played four seasons in the OHL for the Peterborough Pete’s were he played in the Memorial cup in the 1988-89 season also representing Canada at the world juniors that season. That same season Corey was the 12th overall pick by the New Jersey Devils. Corey played in 45 NHL games and 530 American league games before going to Japan to finish his career. Corey said that he was exciting to get started working with young hockey players.

Randy Pierce also hired one of his former players with the Arnprior Packers Evan Gary who played five seasons winning the Junior B title in 1996 and 1998. Evan also said how he was excited to have this opportunity to coach young kids and get them ready for the Fred Page Cup.

The last piece of the coaching staff is bringing back Goalie Coach Paul Schonfelder who was the Stallions for 2 season’s before moving to Toronto with his job but Paul is returning to Ottawa and will resume his position of Goalie Coach.

Randy also said now that his coaching positions are full he is looking to get the season and training camp going which opens in less than two weeks.
