Voyageurs and Frontenacs Partnership

The Vees have officially entered into an affiliation partnership with the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs and will work together entering the 2011-12 hockey season. Head Coach Colin Birkas and General Manager Doug Gilmour sat down to discuss options heading into this season and feel that working together is the best for both clubs. The Frontenacs have three local players drafted in this past year’s OHL draft that are vying for roster spots on the Vees this season in Alex Tonge, Jay Mackie and Jacob Hetherington.

“We’re the two biggest hockey teams in the city and I think it really makes a lot of sense to work with each other and help promote each other and have a good solid working relationship,” said Birkas. Gilmour added, "We are very excited to have a good working relationship with the Voyageurs".
