Bulls Sign Daniil Zharkov

Press Release

BELLEVILLE, ON - Bulls Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett announced Wednesday afternoon that the team has signed 2011 CHL Import draftee Daniil Zharkov to an Ontario Hockey League contract.

Zharkov, the 13th overall pick in the June draft, is already accustomed to the North American game after spending the 2010 season with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. At 6 foot 3, 200 pounds, Zharkov brings skill and size to the wing, playing a strong north and south game.

"We're pleased to bring Daniil into the picture here, he's looked very strong in the early portion of training camp and we look forward to seeing what he can bring to the ice," said Burnett.

Zharkov collected 8 goals and 3 assists in 36 games with the Storm last season. A native of St. Petersburg, Zharkov was a highly sought after player in the early going of the CHL Import Draft.

After spending a season in North America, Zharkov has a grasp on the English language and is sure to settle in nicely to life in the Friendly City.

Catch Zharkov and the Bulls as they continue training camp throughout the week at the Yardmen Arena.
