Connor Brown commits to Otters

Press Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that right wing Connor Brown has signed a contract with the team.

Brown, a resident of Etobicoke, Ontario, was selected by the Otters in the 13th round (250th overall) of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection out of the Toronto Marlboros program. He was teammates with current Otters Chris Marchese and Adam Pelech.

“Connor is a dynamic, intelligent player who uses his skill set to his advantage.” Assistant Manager of Hockey Operations Dave Brown said. “He is going to be a great player in this league.”

“We’ve worked really hard off the ice to get this deal done,” Assistant General Manager of Administration Shawn Waskiewicz said. “We’re excited about having Connor and his family in Erie for the next few years.”

Last season with the St. Michael’s Buzzers of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League, Brown led team rookies in scoring with 39 points in 49 games. He was fourth on the squad with 17 goals.

Born on January 14, 1994, the five-foot-11 Brown will be eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. His brother, Jeff, played three seasons in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals and Windsor Spitfires from 2008 to 2011.

Individual tickets for the 2011-12 OHL season are now on sale. Fans can purchase tickets through the Erie Civic Center Box Office, online at OttersHockey.com or by calling 814-452-4857.

The Otters return to the ice at Tullio Arena tonight at 7:00 p.m. when they battle the Niagara IceDogs in an exhibition contest. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children ages three to 12.
