Ipson joins RoughRiders as Trainer and Equipment Manager

The USHL RoughRiders are pleased to announce Chris Ipson has joined the organization as its Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager after spending 23 years as the trainer for the Michigan Tech University hockey team. Prior to MTU, Ipson spent 4 years as the head trainer for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. He got his start in the Central Hockey League, working as head trainer for the Fort Worth Texans in 1981, the Wichita Wind in 1982, and the Montana Magic in 1983, before advancing to the NHL level.

"Chris has vast experience at the college and professional level and will be a very valuable resource for our young players in teaching them how to prepare for games and how to become better hockey players and athletes" said Mark Carlson, RoughRider Head Coach and General Manager.

Holding an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Ipson earned his master's degree from the University of Denver in 1981.

A member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the American College of Sports Medicine, he is also an instructor for the American Heart Association.
