MALETTA RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL

Press Release

The Windsor Spitfires would like to update everyone in regard to the injury suffered by rookie forward Jordan Maletta in today’s preseason game against the Plymouth Whalers at the WFCU Centre.

Official Statement from Windsor Spitfires Athletic Therapist Joey Garland:

“Jordan was sent to the hospital to be evaluated as a precaution. He has been assessed and since released from the emergency room.”

Further updates regarding Maletta’s condition will be released as details are received.

HIT HARD

Maletta was hit hard along the boards during the first period of an eventual 3-3 tie with the Plymouth Whalers in the Labour Day game on Monday.

He attempted to get to the bench before stalling at centre ice.

Spitfires training and medical staff attended to Maletta for some 10 minutes, before he was taken by ambulance to Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor for observation and testing.
