Mooseheads name Critchlow Captain

Press Release

Halifax Mooseheads head coach Dominique Ducharme announced his captain and alternate captains for the 2011-12 season this morning.

Twenty year old Cameron Critchlow, a Moncton native, has been named captain of this year’s Halifax Mooseheads. Critchlow, who is entering his 5th season in the league, captained the Lewiston Maineiacs last season before being selected by Victoriaville in the Lewiston Dispersal Draft. The Mooseheads acquired Critchlow from the Victoriaville Tigres on August 1st in exchange for a 2012 5th round pick.

“Cameron is a natural-born leader” stated Ducharme. “The way he brings the team together and communicates with his teammates is impressive”.

Defensemen Trey Lewis and Steve Gillard will also wear letters for the Mooseheads this season as alternate captains.

“All three of these young men lead by example” stated Ducharme. “They are committed to our program, pay close attention to the details and work hard, both on and off the ice.”

The third alternate captain will be rotated among the remaining roster.

The Mooseheads will make their debut tonight in Charlottetown for their 2011-12 season opener against the Rocket before travelling to Bathurst Saturday. The Mooseheads home opener is next Friday, September 16th against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at the Halifax Metro Centre.
