Novak Commits to Western Michigan

The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that forward Kyle Novak has committed to Western Michigan University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). Novak is the 3rd player on the Gamblers roster to commit to the Broncos, joining forwards Nolan LaPorte and Nicholas Schilkey. The Broncos are lead by first year head coach Andy Murray.

Novak was selected by the Gamblers in the 2010 USHL Entry Draft. The O’Fallen, Missouri native appeared in 37 games with the St. Louis Jr. Blues, registering 31 goals, 38 assists last season. He played in 3 games last season with the Green Bay Gamblers.

Novak becomes the 17th Gambler off the 2011-2012 squad to commit to a NCAA Division I institution. Others include forwards Alex Broadhurst (Nebraska-Omaha) Conner Honey (Denver), Nicholas Schilkey (Western Michigan), Alex Kile (Michigan) Ville Jarvelainen (St Cloud St), Sam Herr (Notre Dame) Nolan LaPorte (Western Michigan), Sheldon Dries (Ohio State) defensemen Gustav Olofsson (Colorado College), Max Hartner (Air Force), Andy Ryan (Notre Dame), Dakota Mermis (Denver), Markus Lauridsen (St. Cloud St) Andy Welinski (Minnesota-Duluth) and goaltenders Adam Wilcox (Minnesota) and Ryan McKay (Miami of Ohio).
