Patriots ink Buckles, Enns, and Simic!

Press Release

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots have added a few more young prospects to this year’s team in the signing of forward Matt Buckles, defenceman Tyler Enns, and Goaltender Corey Simic.

Buckles comes to the Patriots after having been a major contributor to the Don Mills Minor Midget team who lost in the OHL Cup final this past season. Buckles was also drafted in the fourth round in this years OHL draft. "Matt has a ton of potential and is getting more comfortable playing Junior hockey, I expect him to make major leaps and strides this year once he adjusts to the strength and speed. I am extremely happy to add Matt to our team" commented Head Coach Mike Tarantino.

Tyler Enns comes to the Patriots after playing last year with the Toronto Marlies Midget AAA team under Rick Gaetz. "Tyler is an exceptional skater who is very dependable and makes smart plays with and without the puck. He is extremely coachable and has a lot of upside. I'm excited to add Tyler to our roster" said Tarantino.

Cory Simic joins the Patriots after playing last year with the Oshawa Generals Midget AAA program. "Cory was impressive in our prospect camp, our inter squad scrimmages and the preseason games he played in. Cory adds some youth and ability to our goaltending position and I expect him to challenge for playing time with Joseph." stated Tarantino.
