Raiders Trim Roster to 29

Press Release

The Prince Albert Raiders have reassigned 16-year-old defenceman Arvin Atwal to the Midget AAA Vancouver Canadians of the British Columbia Major Midget League and have placed 20-year-old forward Andrew Herle on Western Hockey League Waivers.

Atwal, who was the Raiders 8th round, 170th overall selection in the 2010 Western Hockey League Bantam Entry Draft picked up one assist in his two pre-season games and will return to the Midget AAA Vancouver Canadians.

Herle picked up 24 points (11-13-24) in 135 games with the Raiders from 2009-2011 and was one of six over agers with the team. He has until 10:00 AM (MT) on Wednesday, September 14th to be claimed off Western Hockey League waivers. In the event he clears waivers, Herle will report to the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey league who are set to host the RBC Cup this season.

“We would like to thank Andrew for his contributions to the Raider organization over the past two years,” said Raiders Head Coach and General Manager Bruno Campese. “We wish him the best of luck in his future hockey aspirations.”

There are now 29 players (3 goalies, 9 defencemen and 17 forwards) remaining on the Raiders’ roster including five over age players.
