Salmon Arm and Cowichan Valley alum Cassidy inks NCAA deal

Former Salmon Arm SilverBacks and Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Matt Cassidy has accepted an offer from the American International College Yellow Jackets.

The London, Ont. native played the majority of his BCHL career in Salmon Arm but went to Cowichan Valley in January of last season. He set new marks in goals, assists and penalty minutes last year scoring 18 goals and 31 assists in 57 games to go along with 21 PIMs.

American International College is located in Springfield, Massachusetts and the Yellow Jackets hockey team competes in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey Conference.

Cassidy will join Trail Smoke Eaters graduate Nick Sandor on the Yellow Jackets.
