Bussières, Gauthier-Leduc and Hudon named TELUS three stars of the week

Raphaël Busières, Jérôme Gauthier-Leduc and Charles Hudon were named today, the TELUS three stars of the week for the period between September 26th and October 2nd 2011.

Raphaël Bussières, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar left-winger is the first star of the week after having collected 3 goals and 4 assists. During September 27th’s game against the Victoriaville Tigres, Bussières scored a goal and added three assists in a 6-1 win. Saturday, against the PEI Rocket, he scored another goal, allowing his team to get another win with the same 6-1 score. Sunday, Bussières was just as dynamic, helping the Drakkar finish the week with yet a third victory in a 6-2 triumph against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He scored a goal with 20 seconds remaining in the first period and added a pass in the beginning of the third. Raphaël Bussières amassed 7 goals, 6 assists for a total of 13 points and a +/- of +10 this week. It’s worth nothing that his team sits atop the QMJHL’s overall standings.

Jérôme Gauthier-Leduc is the second star of the week after having accumulated 2 goals and 4 assists for a total of 6 points in two games. The 6’01 Rimouski Océanic defenceman recorded an assist early during last Saturday’s game against the Moncton Wildcats and another one for the last goal in the third period, which allowed his team to win 7-2. Last night, against the Drummondville Voltigeurs, he scored two goals and added an assist in a 6-1 victory. In 4 games this season, he has collected 4 goals, 7 assists for a total of 11 points and a +/- of +2, during which he has gotten at least 2 points per game.

Charles Hudon, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens left winger, is the third star with 3 goals and 3 assists. Wednesday, he scored 1 goal early in the first period against the Drummondville Voltigeurs as well as the tying goal with 3 seconds left on the clock at the end of the game forcing the teams to go into overtime. In the game opposing the Saguenéens to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Hudon opened the scoring at 2:55 of the first period and contributed an assist for a 3-2 victory. He also recorded an assist, last night, against the PEI Rocket. In all, he has collected 6 goals, 10 assists for a total of 16 points and a +/- of +4 this season. The Saguenéens have collected 4 points during the last 3 games.
