CENTRAL CANADA ALL-STAR CHALLENGE

The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce the first annual CENTRAL CANADA ALL-STAR CHALLENGE will be hosted by the CCHL in Smiths Falls at the new Smiths Falls Community Memorial Centre.

The event will take place December 27-29, 2011 and see all-star teams from the CCHL, the OJHL, the QJAAAHL and the NOJHL play a unique round robin tournament. The four leagues are members of the CJHL which consists of ten leagues in total from across Canada.

Each division in the CCHL (Yzerman and Robinson) along with each division in the OJHL (East, South, North and West) shall ice representative teams as well as single entries from the QJAAAHL and the NOJHL making it an eight team tournament. Two divisions of four shall play a round robin schedule on December 27 and 28 with games consisting of two 20 minute halfs. On the 29th, the top two teams in each division will play a cross-over semi-final with a championship game for the two winners later in the day.

The format is designed to provide maximum exposure to NHL, NCAA and CHL scouts in attendance and give over 150 elite Junior A players from Central Canada a unique experience over the holiday experience.

Rosters will be announced in early December and fans will be treated to three days of exciting Junior A hockey in one of the countries finest Junior A facilities.
