Chicago Blackhawks Return Brandon Saad to Spirit

Press Release

Saginaw Spirit forward Brandon Saad has been returned to the Spirit from his NHL team the Chicago Blackhawks as of Wednesday evening.

Saad played the entire preseason and earned a spot on the opening day roster with the Blackhawks after signing an entry level contract with the club the day before the start of the NHL season. Saad played in Chicago’s first two regular season games registering three shots on goal. Brandon was Chicago’s second round pick, 43rd overall in June.

“The Saginaw Spirit are very proud of Brandon and the progress he made during training camp and the preseason with the Chicago Blackhawks. It is the goal of the Saginaw Spirit to develop its talent to play at the NHL level. We are extremely excited to have Brandon back with the Saginaw Spirit this season,” said Spirit President Craig Goslin.

Last season with the Spirit, Saad scored 27 goals and recorded 28 assists in the regular season.
