CURTIS LOIK COMMITS TO PENN STATE

PENTICTON, BC – The Penticton Vees Hockey Club is pleased to announce Curtis Loik has committed to Penn State University.

As an eighteen-year-old, in his second season with the Vees, Loik has recorded one goal and three points in five games. Loik, a 6’1, 205 pound left-winger, is coming off a solid rookie campaign with the Vees. Last season, the North Vancouver product recorded 10 goals and 26 points in 57 games.

“Curtis is an extremely focused individual in all areas of and his life. Curtis’s size and ability will be a great addition to such a prestigious program as Penn State. That program will have a large following and with the way Curtis’s plays he will quickly become a player to watch. ”-Head Coach & GM Fred Harbinson.

The Penn State Nittany Lions men’s Ice Hockey Program will play at the NCAA Division l level for the first time in the fall of 2012 and will compete as an independent program for the 2012-2013 season. The following year the Nittany Lions will move to the newly created BIG 10 hockey conference for the 2013-2014 season, joining Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Curtis Loik is the 14th player on the Vees roster to secure an NCAA commitment this season
