Gamblers Forward Arnold Commits to University of Denver

The Green Bay Gamblers announced that forward Grant Arnold will play collegiate hockey at the University of Denver beginning next season.

Arnold is currently playing in his third USHL season in Green Bay and has been selected as a team captain. During his rookie campaign in 2009-10, he tallied 17 points (7g, 10a) and a plus-11 rating in 42 games and then helped the Gamblers capture the Clark Cup title. Last season, he appeared in all but one of the 60 regular season games and scored 15 points (6g, 9a) while also adding seven points (2g, 5a) in 11 postseason games as he helped the team make a return trip to the Clark Cup Final.

The 6-1, 203-pound forward will be in familiar territory when he collegiate career starts as his hometown of Centennial, Colorado is just 10 miles from the University of Denver campus. Current Gamblers teammates Dakota Mermis and Conner Honey are also committed to play hockey at the school.

Nine other current USHL players are committed to the University of Denver; Landon Smith (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Nolan Zajac (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Ray Pigozzi (Des Moines Buccaneers), Tyler Pham (Indiana Ice), Brad Hawkinson (Lincoln Stars), Matt Van Voorhis (Sioux Falls Stampede), Trevor Moore (Tri-City Storm), Gage Ausmus (Team USA), and Connor Chatham (Team USA).
