Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of two separate disciplinary reviews. The league has taken the position, that for education purposes, any announcement regarding supplementary discipline will be supported by video footage and additional rationale for all incidents involving checking to the head, checking from behind, and others at the discretion of the league.
Player Kyle Hope – Oshawa Generals Hockey Club
The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of review of an incident which took place in a game played in Sarnia on the 7th of October, 2011 involving the Sting and the visiting Oshawa Generals Hockey Club.
The incident reviewed was a 5 minute major and game misconduct for charging assessed to player Kyle Hope of the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club for his hit on Sting player Julian Luciani.
Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Kyle Hope shall be suspended for ten (10) games, dating from but not including the game of Friday, October 7th, 2011.

Player Josh Shalla – Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club
The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a review of an incident which occurred in a game played in Kitchener on the 7th of October, 2011, involving the Rangers and the visiting Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club.
The incident reviewed was a 5 minute major and game misconduct for checking to the head assessed to player Josh Shalla of the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club for his hit on Rangers’ forward Matia Marcantuoni.
Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Josh Shalla shall be suspended for ten (10) games, dating from but not including the game of Friday, October 7th, 2011.
