The QMJHL announces the selection committee for the 2011 Subway Super Series

Press Release

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey league announced today the creation of a selection committee for the 2011 Subway Super Series. It consists of the QMJHL Executive vice-president, Marcel Patenaude, the Director of Hockey Operations, Pierre Leduc and the general managers of the Quebec Remparts, Patrick Roy, the Victoriaville Tigres, Jérôme Mésonéro and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Sylvain Couturier. The objective of the committee is to select the players that will represent the QMJHL during the November 7th game in Victoriaville and the November 9th game in Quebec.

The commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, expressed his confidence towards the committee that will have the task of selecting the best players to represent the league. “I am fully confident that the committee will be able to present a talented team that will do the QMJHL proud.”

Last year, the Russian team won both matches against the QMJHL by 5-4 and 4-3 margins. This year’s QMJHL team will attempt to avenge last year’s defeats.

Moreover, the Subway Super Series is an excellent platform for selecting players that will play for the National Junior team which will be held in Calgary and Edmonton next December.
