St. Denis' continued hot streak earns him Player of the Week recognition

Penticton Vees forward Travis St. Denis has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the Week ending Oct. 9, the league announced Monday.

St. Denis leads the BCHL in scoring after a week that saw him notch six points in three games. The 5-foot-8, 166-pound Trail native began with the game-winning goal and an assist in a win over the Merritt Centennials, scored two more including another game-winner in a defeat of the Prince George Spruce Kings where he was named 1st Star and finished with an assist in an OT loss to Prince George.

St. Denis now has eight goals and seven assists in seven games to lead all BCHLers.

Honourable mentions this week are Coquitlam Express forward Brady Shaw (two games, three goals, two assists, one GWG, one 1st Star), Vernon Vipers goalie Kirby Halcrow (two games, two wins, 1.39 goals-against average, .956 save percentage, one 1st Star), Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Devin Gannon (two games, two goals, two assists, two 1st Stars) and Nanaimo Clippers forward Trevor Fitzgerald (three games, three goals, one assist, one 1st Star, one 2nd Star).
