Ten Vaanholt leads all scorers for week, earns POW honours

Victoria Grizzlies forward Jarryd Ten Vaanholt has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16, the league announced Monday.

Ten Vaanholt led the Grizzlies in a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Nanaimo Clippers with two goals and two assists in the third period to begin the week. He repeated as 1st Star with two goals and a helper in a win over Langley, and finished with a goal, two assists and a 3rd Star in another win over Nanaimo.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound West Vancouver native wound up with five goals and six assists in four games and is now on a personal eight-game point streak.

Honourable mentions this week go to Prince George Spruce Kings forward Michael Colantone (three games, two goals, eight assists, three 2nd Stars), Coquitlam Express goalie Khaleed Devji (one tie in relief, one win, 85 saves on 88 shots, 1.76 GAA, one 1st Star, one 2nd Star), Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman Ben Woodley (three games, one goal, three assists) and Prince George Spruce Kings forward Jujhar Khaira (three games, six goals, four assists, one 1st Star, one 2nd Star).
