PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are very happy to announce a trade has been made with the Westside Warriors of the BCHL for Tyson Witala of Prince George in exchange for future considerations.
To start the season, Tyson Witala has played in three games picking up a goal and an assist with the Warriors. Last season as an AP with the Spruce Kings, Witala scored his first BCHL goal and added three assists in eight games. The 5' 10" 167lbs left handed 18 year old forward is a Prince George product with a tremendous gift for the game.
"Tyson (Witala) is a local hockey product who we are very familiar with," said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. "We are fortunate to be able to acquire him as he is an offensively gifted player who is also defensively responsible and plays with an edge. He will be a good player for us for the next few years."
Witala is expected to practice with the Spruce Kings this week and be in the lineup for the team’s weekend double header against the Penticton Vees Friday and Saturday night. Both games are 7pm starts in the Prince George Coliseum.
