Second year Silverback forward and current leading scorer Devin Muller is among the players on the short list for Switzerland’s' World Junior Championship squad.
Muller will depart for Alberta next weekend in hopes of making it from the current roster of 33 players to the final roster before the tournament opens on Boxing Day. Switzerland plays its first exhibition contest Dec. 21 in Camrose, Alta. against the United States. They play Canada the next day in Red Deer.
Muller leads the Silverbacks 13 goals and 34 points after a much more defensive role in his rookie season.
The Swiss team will include Calgary Flames first-round draft pick Sven Baertchi but looks like it will be without the services of New York Islanders forward Nino Nieddereiter after a concussion set-back last week.
The Silverbacks organization wishes Devin the best of luck in making the final roster and hopes he can return to Salmon Arm after a successful tournament with Team Switzerland.
