Bobcats Go HD for Russian

Press Release

BISMARCK, ND – With their December 21st contest against the Russian Red Stars nearing sell-out status, the Bismarck Bobcats are pleased to announce that they will be televising the international event live on KXMB CBS 12 in Bismarck and its affiliate stations in Minot, Williston and Dickinson.

It will mark the first time in franchise history that the Bobcats will have a game televised locally.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with KXMB to bring Bobcat Hockey into local family rooms next week,” said Bobcats team owner Thom Brigl. “This is turning out to be a great event and the barn will be rocking like never before. We have several hundred standing room tickets available but they will probably sell out as well.

“But with KXMB’s exclusive HD technology, our international showdown will look better than ever—almost as good as being there. Almost.”

The Red Stars are an all-star team from Russia’s MHL—the junior offshoot of the KHL, Russia’s answer to the NHL.

Paul Teeple, the Voice of the Bobcats, will handle the play-by-play for the broadcast with former Bobcat and Fighting Sioux forward James Massen serving as color analyst. Teeple and Massen will be joined by KXMB sports director Tia Streeter and sports reporter Zach Hanley throughout the night.

“We’ve known for a while that the 21st is going be a big night for the team and organization,” reflected Teeple, in his third year behind the mic for the Bobcats, “so we’re all thrilled to know that a marquee night for Bobcat Hockey will be beamed in HD all over western North Dakota.”

You won’t want to miss the franchise’s first international event and a limited number of standing room only tickets still remain for the Bobcats-Red Stars extravaganza. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 222-3300 or fans can buy and print online right now at https://www.ezticketlive.com/checkout/eventbdate.asp?id=147.

Bobcat Hockey would like to thank its presenting sponsors for the Red Stars showdown: Scheels and Cumulus Broadcasting - HOT 97.5, 96.5 The Fox, US 103, Cool 98.7 and Super Talk 1270, the radio home of your Bismarck Bobcats!
