Press Release

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Dryden Ice Dogs forward Ryan Lobreau has been selected Pizza Hut player of the week for the period running Nov. 28-Dec. 4.

In three games this past week the 20-year-old Dryden native registered six points helping his short-staffed side record a pair of key victories and move into fourth place in the SIJHL standings.

Lobreau opened up with a goal in a come from behind win at Fort Frances on Wednesday, supplied an assist during a road setback vs. Sioux Lookout Friday and then completed his week by scoring three times, including the game-winner, while setting up another in a home ice triumph against the Flyers Saturday.

In the process he extended a consecutive game point streak to seven having also picked up points in nine of his past 10 outings as well as 21 of 25 games he has played so far this season.

Lobreau currently leads the Ice Dogs in offensive production, sitting fifth overall in the SIJHL as well, with 37 points on 15 goals and 22 assists. He has also amassed 20 power play points, which leads the league.

The Dryden forward will receive a gift card courtesy of Pizza Hut for his on-ice contributions.

Honourable mention for the Pizza Hut player of the week award went to Mike Dietrich, (F) Wisconsin Wilderness; Carter McEachern, (G) Thunder Bay North Stars; Jordan Christianson, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Matt Morsette, (F) Duluth Clydesdales; Chris Hoffman, (F) Sioux Lookout Flyers and Garrett Allen (F) Iron Range Iron Heads.
