ODESSA, TX– Alongside media representatives, event sponsors and members of the Odessa/Midland community, the Odessa Jackalopes announced the details of their ‘Pink in the Rink’ Night on Tuesday inside the Center Ice Club at Ector County Coliseum in Odessa. Jackalopes General Manager Joe Clark was joined by Jacks players, members of the team’s front office staff and Haley Burks-Ragsdale of the American Cancer Society to announce the details of what has become a familiar event at the Jack Shack over the past 15 seasons of Jackalopes hockey.
‘Pink in the Rink’ will take place Friday, December 2nd at the Jack Shack during the Jackalopes’ showdown with NAHL South Division rivals the Wichita Falls Wildcats, Clark announced Tuesday. During the game, Jacks players will don specialty pink jerseys, modeled by Jacks players Tuesday, which will be auctioned off to fans following the game, along with several team-autographed helmets and pink hockey sticks with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the local branch of the American Cancer Society.
“What we do is help individuals and families in west Texas that are fighting against breast cancer and we’re thrilled to partner with the Jackalopes again this year,” said Burks-Ragsdale Tuesday, “the money raised by this great event will go directly towards helping members of this community battle this awful disease.” The post-game jersey auction will be held immediately following the game on Friday and a number of items will be available via silent auction as well.
“’Pink in the Rink’ is always a terrific event and it’s raising money for a really tremendous cause,” said Clark, “we’d like to thank both the American Cancer Society and our primary sponsor 8th Street Animal Hospital for helping make this night possible again this season…we really can’t wait for Friday.”
Following ‘Pink in the Rink’ Night, the Jackalopes continue their weekend series with Wichita Falls on Saturday, when the team will celebrate ‘Slap Jack’s Birthday’ at the Coliseum sponsored by Kersh Car Wash in the fourth game of a six-game homestand.
