Smokies Deal With Clippers, Acquire Clarkson

Press Release

TRAIL, BC -- The Trail Smoke Eaters are announcing the completion of a three-team trade involving the Nanaimo Clippers and the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Grande Prairie Storm.

The Smoke Eaters have traded forward Adam Boytinck (92) and defenseman Nicholas Wong (91) to Nanaimo for forward Tanner Clarkson (93) and future considerations.

Boytinck and Wong were then shipped to Grande Prairie for forwards Mike Sones (92) and Dan Correale (91).

Clarkson, a native of West Kelowna, scored 4 goals and 8 points with the Clippers this season after putting up 24 goals during the 2010-11 season with the KIJHL's Kelowna Chiefs. He has additional prior BCHL experience with Williams Lake, playing 37 games in 2009-10.

The Smokies would like to welcome Clarkson to the organization and wish Boytinck and Wong the best with their new team.
