Press Release
The North Bay Jr. Trappers brought in some more size, youth and speed in the form of 1993 birth year forward Corbin Bean.
The St. Thomas, Ontario product was acquired from the Huntsville Otters of the OJHL in exchange for forward Ryan West.
Bean, is the son of former North Bay Centennials star forward Tim Bean, who scored 67 goals in parts of 3 seasons with the North Bay Centennials of the OHL from 1984 to 1987.
"I'm very excited to come into North Bay and play hockey," said Bean who started practicing with the Jr. Trappers on Tuesday.
"With my Dad growing up here and playing hockey for the Centennials it's pretty cool to have an opportunity to follow in his foot- steps. North Bay is like a second home for me and I'm very lucky to have been given a chance to play for the Trappers."
Jr. Trappers head coach Tom McCarthy sees a lot of potential in Bean.
"I see him as a young aspiring winger with good speed, good hands and a great sense for the ice that has familiarity with North Bay," said McCarthy.
“We look forward to having Corbin chip in this season and bring even more to the Trappers and the City of North Bay next season. You always see more in time, but in such a short period of time I can see how he'll grow along side perfectly as our team continues to grow. He is a great addition to our young line-up, I'm excited for our players and our hockey club.”
Bean made his debut in the lineup Friday night when the Jr. Trappers entertained the Sudbury Cubs at Memorial Gardens.
